Graphic Intentions!

Title: Graphic Intentions
Author: Patricia Oshier Bruening
Publisher: loveyoudivine
ISBN: 978-1-60054-246-6
FORMAT: ebook
Date Released: August 29 2008
Genre: Gay Romance
Rating: Recommended Read

Graphic novelist Scott has suffered writer's block for a year. Fortunately his several series novels earn sufficient royalties to give him time to recuperate and relocate his muse, but he has been left prone to loneliness and potential depression. At a coffee shop he spots a customer who inspires not only his artwork but also his writing. Soon he's drawing and penning at top speed. His concentration is total and at first he doesn't even realize the man has returned his attention. Derek has a sad and painful past history which roils him nightly in nightmares and grief. In Scott he sees hope for a better future.

GRAPHIC INTENTIONS is author Patricia Oshier Bruening's first venture into the wonderful world of m/m romance and sensuality, and she has accomplished a stunning debut. I was entranced from first page to last and immediately wanted to go back to reread the story. Even for the jaded reader, Scott and Derek are characters to give hope. They are realistic and easy to identify with. They make the reader wish to cheer them on in their quest for relief from sorrow and to find a new future.

GRAPHIC INTENTIONS is the kind of novel that gives the reader hope and belief in romance and love. These two individuals, each suffering from grief over a past that can't be fixed, find each other coincidentally and must work through misunderstandings, miscommunication, and the unthinking bigotry of bystanders; yet they learn to overcome because each realizes there is a greater focus than their own sorrows. They know that together their sum is greater than their individual realities. For readers who have come to doubt the existence of happily ever after endings, GRAPHIC INTENTIONS will change that negative viewpoint into one of faith in love and true consuming affection.

Frost
in_the_hall_of_the_frost_king@yahoo.com

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://favereviews.blogspot.com/2008/09/recommended-read-graphic-intentions.html' title='Recommended Read! Kevin is a normal gay guy, with a nice apartment and a good job. He is doing pretty good, till the night he spots the man who lives across the street. From his apartment, Kevin could see every moves of the man and he becomes obsessed; he remains all his spare time in front of the window, even buys special equipments to see better. After sometime he even begins to neglect work and friends; finally he manages to meet the man and his dream seems to come true... but it's a dream or a nightmare?

Less than 60 pages it has a very stunning ending; really I didn't expect it and maybe I'm also a bit perplexed... I'm happy of it? is it what I was expecting or is it better? This is the first book I read by Jon Michaelsen and in only 60 pages I can't really have a strong opinion on his writing, but for sure this short story is pretty original, and if you like a bit of twist in your usual romance, try it. http://www.loveyoudivine.com/index.php

4 Stars, Pure Artistry, by Carol Mckenzie

Pure Artistry by Carol McKenzie
Gay Book Reviews/Erotica

TITLE: Pure Artistry
AUTHOR: Carol McKenzie
ISBN: 1-60054-234-5
PUBLISHER: loveyoudivine
READ THIS BOOKRATING: 4 Stars
18 Views

BOOK BLURB:Cameron Bracy is just out of a relationship and is straight ... or so he thinks. Corey Shaw is brought in to help with the investigation, and his initial assumption is a BDSM scene that went well past the extreme limits. He tours the town’s dark dungeons, looking for a murderer preying on young men. Can Corey find him before another falls victim to a brutal execution? Or is he next?

The naked body of a young man is found as Provincetown prepares for Mates weekend, a popular leather fetish gathering. The police suspect a random murder, but Corey Shaw, brought in to help with the investigation, suspects it was an extreme BDSM session that went out of control. He tours the town’s dark dungeons, looking for a murderer preying on young men. He becomes immersed in the local scene and discovers a side of himself he’s never explored before. In a sea of muscular, leather-clad Masters and Slaves, he realizes hidden urges in an environment where every fantasy can be fulfilled, but he must set aside his sadomasochism desires in order to locate someone who takes the bondage fetish to the ultimate extreme. Can Corey find him before becoming a victim himself?

BOOK REVIEW:“Safe Word” by Alex Morgan is a good taste of a story. This is a short story that has every reason to be developed into a full-length novel! The main character is complex and intriguing; the environment, ripe with sex and danger, is perfect for murder and mayhem; and the premise is the stuff of great murder mysteries.

My only criticism would be that it was too short. The author sets up some strong erotic scenes but doesn’t explore them to the fullest extent; certain events happen too quickly and leaps of logic occur too easily because of the short length.

With that said, I enjoyed reading this story and look forward to more by this author.

Review by Matthew

4 Cups for Voyeur!

Voyeur
Jon Michaelsen
ISBN#978-1-60054-253-4
June 13, 2008
Love You Divine
http://www.loveyoudivine.com/
E-book
$3.00
Gay Erotica/Mysetry/Suspense
Rating: 4 Cups

Kevin is obsessed with the man who lives in the building next to his. Then when Tony turns up the next night, bloody and with a story that he and his boyfriend fought, Kevin thinks his dreams have come true. The author continues to drop subtle hints about Tony, but in such a way that you are never really certain what the hint really means. This technique kept me reading until I had reached the end because I just had to see what happened to Kevin and Tony. The sex is blistering hot, but even so the author does a good job of giving the idea that all is not as it seems, and a hot body does not necessarily make a good person. If you enjoy a little erotica with your suspense then you simply must check out Voyeur!

Rating: 4 cups
ReginaReviewer for Coffee Time Romance

Reviewer for Karen Find Out About New Books

See this review at http://www.coffeetimeromance.com/BookReviews/VoyeurByJohnMichaelsen.html.

5 Cups for Graphic Intentions!

GRAPHIC INTENTIONS

PATRICIA OSHIER BRUENING

ISBN# 1-60054-246-6

June 6, 2008

Love You Divine

http://www.loveyoudivine.com/

E-book$3.50

96 Pages

Gay Romance

Rating: 5 cups

Scott Delaney is a graphic novelist who is suffering from writer¢s block. He is looking for inspiration.

Derek Reinhart is a consultant and makes more than enough money to live the high life, yet he chooses not to. He just takes things on a day by day basis.

When Scott spots Derek in a diner, he knows he has found his muse. His writer¢s block instantly disappears and Scott finds himself feverishly drawing picture after picture featuring Derek. It is not long before Derek notices the hot guy who keeps watching him and then drawing. Curious, he goes over and takes a look at the drawings, and then introduces himself. Both men are highly attracted to each other, but both think the other is straight. When a drunk bigot takes out his frustrations on Scott, Derek defends him and it is then that they discover their mutual attraction. Will they be able to help each other work through their dark pasts, or will those pasts drive them apart?

I loved Graphic Intentions! There is nothing I love more than a gay romance that has deep seated emotions on the part of the two main characters. Ms. Bruening paints a picture of two men who have been hurt deeply by decisions they made in the past, each carrying deep scaring on the inside. Reading about these two men who are tortured by their memories coming together and helping each other heal makes for a fantastic story. The emotions are realistic, as are the men, and there is no sugar coating any of it which I thought was great. The love scenes are hotter than hot, and had this reader fanning herself quite often. Even if you do not buy another book this month, you will want to buy Graphic Intentions!

ReginaReviewer for Coffee Time Romance

Reviewer for Karen Find Out About New Books
